All UK and Irish rights to Kim Rossi Stuart’s impressive debut feature, ANCHE LIBERO VA BENE (ALONG THE RIDGE), which won the 'Directors’ Fortnight' award at the Cannes Film Festival, have been acquired by UK producer/distributor, AX1 Films.

Featuring incredible performances by Alessandro Morace, Marta Nobili and Kim Rossi Stuart himself, the film tells the story of how two young children and their father form a strangely united and courageous family after being abandoned by the most important woman in their lives - their mother and wife (played by Barbora Bobulova).

The film will receive its UK premiere at the forthcoming London Film Festival in October and will be commercially released shortly after.

AX1 Films’ Japanese film, TONY TAKITANI, opened exclusively at the Curzon Soho cinema in London’s West End, taking an impressive £4,760 ($8,377) from just 5 shows over the 3 day opening weekend commencing Friday 21st April - the highest screen average of any film in release anywhere in the UK.

The opening night screening was followed by a special Q &A session with the director, Jun Ichikawa, who had made the trip from Tokyo to support the release of the film.
