AX1 Films has acquired all UK & Irish rights to the Norwegian screenwriter’s remarkable directorial debut.

Eskil Vogt’s’ co-writing screen credits include Joachim Trier’s ‘Reprise’ and ‘Oslo, August 31st’, both of which have been highly praised, winning multiple awards.

Captivating audiences at festival screenings, BLIND premiered at Sundance in the World Dramatic section this year, it went onto pick-up the World Cinema Screenwriting award. It has since won the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European film at Berlin, the New Talent Grand Pix at CPH PIX in Copenhagen, and the Golden Tulip at Istanbul.

AX1 Films will handle UK and Irish rights to Benedikt Erlingsson’s stunning debut feature OF HORSES AND MEN, which recently won the Best New Director at the San Sebastián Film Festival and has just been chosen by Iceland as their Foreign Language entry for the 2014 Oscars.

A darkly comedic, episodic tale of the lives of a remote Icelandic community and the deeply intertwined and highly emotive relationships with their horses, OF HORSES AND MEN will be released in UK cinemas next year.

AX1 Films will handle all UK and Irish rights to writer-director Mariana Rondon’s PELO MALO ("Bad Hair"), which recently won the prestigious Golden Shell at San Sebastián and has just screened in Official Selection at this year’s BFI London Film Festival.

A delicate and touching coming of age story from Venezuela, featuring standout performances from its lead actors (Samuel Lange and Samantha Castillo), PELO MALO is scheduled for release in the UK and Ireland in 2014.
