UK producer / distributor AX1 Films finished principal photography in London 23rd July 2007 on its latest feature project, the drama BROKEN LINES (working title).

Paul Bettany and Olivia Williams head the cast that also features Dan Fredenburgh and Doraly Rosa, who wrote the original screenplay, with BAFTA Award-nominated British director Sallie Aprahamian at the helm.

BROKEN LINES is an AX1 Films production in association with Cinema Two, the UK based production and financing vehicle set up by Matador Pictures and finance house Regent Capital (backers of last year’s Palme D’Or winning “The Wind That Shakes The Barley”)in December 2006. Other investors include the UK's Arts Alliance Media.

The project was developed by AX1, and produced for the company by Douglas Cummins, with Carlo Dusi of Aria Films co-producing. Executive producers are Nigel Thomas and Charlotte Walls of Matador Pictures.

BROKEN LINES is an ensemble piece starring Paul Bettany (The Da Vinci Code, Master and Commander, A Beautiful Mind, Wimbledon and Dogville) Olivia Williams (Flashbacks of a Fool, Rushmore, The Postman, The Heart of Me and The Sixth Sense) Dan Fredenburgh (The Bourne Ultimatum, Land of the Blind, Love Actually and the RSC’s The Prince of Homborg) and Doraly Rosa (Mrs Henderson Presents, Irina Palm and Love Actually) based on an original screenplay co-written by Doraly Rosa and Dan Fredenburgh. An emotional journey of love, obligation, and conflict set against the urban backdrop of modern London, the film was shot over 5 weeks on location throughout London and at Shepperton Studios.

Director, Sallie Aprahamian, is one of England’s most gifted television and theatre directors. She has been nominated for Royal Television Society Awards, and has directed several BAFTA-nominated and winning shows. She has directed over thirty productions of new work in theatre for a wide range for companies. Her direction of the critically acclaimed Blue Night in the Heart of the West won a George Devine Award. Sallie Aprahamian said ‘I feel passionate about working on this energetic, touching film and believe that it will make a truly original and powerful contribution to British cinema.’ “BROKEN LINES” is her feature film debut.

AX1 Films will release the film in cinemas in the UK in 2008.
