In French comedy MAMMUTH Gérard Depardieu shines in his most uninhibited role to date. Cult directors Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern (Louise-Michel, Aaltra) pull out all the stops in this outrageously funny and subversive road movie about one man's attempt to secure his future.
Depardieu plays Serge Piladosse, a recently retired meat factory worker, who must retrieve former employment records in order to claim his full pension. He takes to the road on his classic ‘Mammuth’ motorcycle and embarks on a haphazard trip down memory lane. With visitations from his ‘lost love’ (Isabelle Adjani) and egged on by his eccentric yet suspicious wife Catherine (Yolande Moreau), Serge faces some difficult truths about his past lives that force him to take a new perspective on life.
A box office hit in France and recipient of three César nominations, MAMMUTH also stands out for what is considered a career-best performance from Gérard Depardieu.
